LIGHTER LEGS AT THE END OF THE DAY
Not all compression is the same. Gradual compression — sometimes called graduated compression — is designed with a specific structure: firmest at the ankle, gradually easing as it moves up the leg. That direction matters.
When you're on your feet all day, sitting for long stretches or just getting through a busy schedule, blood can pool in your lower legs — leaving them feeling heavy, tired or swollen by the end of the day. Your leg muscles normally help push blood back up towards your heart as you move, but that natural pump works less efficiently when you're standing still or sitting for hours.
Gradual compression is built to work with that process. By applying the most pressure at the ankle and gradually less further up the leg, it encourages blood flow in the right direction, helping to ease that heavy, sluggish feeling — rather than just squeezing evenly, which doesn't offer the same directional support.
This is different from a plain elastic sock, which grips uniformly and can actually restrict flow rather than assist it.
Who tends to feel the difference
People on their feet for long stretches, whether at work or on a busy day out. People sitting still for hours: desk work, long drives, flights. Anyone who's active: walking, hiking, travel days. And simply anyone who notices their legs feeling heavy or tired by the end of the day.
